The SECO 74014921 is a solid carbide milling insert manufactured to the SEAN1203AFTN-M14 specification, designed for use in face milling and shoulder milling operations on CNC machining centers. The insert features a square shape with a 90-degree included angle, a neutral rake and neutral hand orientation, and a T-Land cutting edge style for improved edge stability. Applied with a CVD-deposited TiCN coating in a medium grain carbide substrate at manufacturer grade T25M, it delivers consistent wear resistance across a range of workpiece materials. Four usable cutting edges are available per insert, reducing tooling cost per edge in production environments.
This insert is suited for machining steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium in both roughing and semi-finishing passes. It is compatible with the SECO R220.13-12 cutter series and carries the SEAN-12 series designation. The M14 chip breaker geometry is optimized for medium-duty cuts in the listed workpiece material groups. Typical applications include face milling on horizontal and vertical machining centers in job shop and production environments. The insert is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
Designed for use with the SECO R220.13-12 cutter series. ANSI and ISO code SEAN1203AFTN-M14. Compatible with wedge-clamp insert holding systems in the SEAN-12 series. Rated for primary and secondary material groups: Steel (P), Stainless Steel (M), Superalloys and Titanium (S).
Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the spindle before seating or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key specified by the cutter body manufacturer when tightening the wedge clamp — do not overtighten. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping wedge for wear or debris before each insert change to ensure proper seating and runout control.
