The SECO 74005311 is a carbide cutoff insert designed for parting and grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Built to the 150.10 series specification, it features a 0.122-inch cutting width and a T25M carbide grade applied with a CVD-deposited TiC/TiCN/TiN multilayer coating. The 6-degree right-hand lead angle and 6-degree relief angle promote chip clearance and reduce tool pressure during cutoff. The insert uses a clamp-style holding method and is rated for universal workpiece materials, making it a versatile choice across a broad range of metalcutting applications. Machinists and toolroom technicians working in production turning environments are the primary users.
This insert is suited for cutoff and parting operations in both production and job-shop turning environments. The T25M grade with CVD coating performs across a wide range of workpiece materials, including steels, cast irons, and non-ferrous alloys classified under primary material code O for universal application. The chipbreaker geometry designation 14 is matched to the 150.10 series toolholder system, making it a direct fit for compatible SECO 150.10 series cutoff blade bodies. It ships as a single-end insert, sold individually, with a minimum order quantity of 10 pieces.
Designed for use with SECO 150.10 series cutoff blade bodies that accept 3R6-14 style inserts with a clamp-style holding method and right-hand lead angle orientation.
Installation is performed by toolroom technicians or CNC machinists with the machine fully stopped and locked out per applicable safety procedures. Seat the insert fully into the blade body pocket before engaging the clamping mechanism, and verify the cutting edge is flush and properly aligned before resuming operation. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping surfaces for chips or debris prior to each insert change. Follow the toolholder manufacturer torque guidance for the clamping screw to avoid insert movement or pocket damage.
