The SECO 74004992 is a chamfer-style replaceable milling tip designed for use in the Minimaster MM16 modular milling system. Built from solid carbide with a TiAlN coating applied via PVD process, this two-flute insert delivers a 45-degree chamfer angle and a 90-degree included angle for consistent chamfering and edge preparation. The cutting diameter measures 0.303 inches, maximum depth of cut is 0.154 inches, and the functional length is 0.522 inches. Manufacturer grade T60M with E06 chipbreaker geometry makes this tip well-suited for controlled chip evacuation in demanding materials. Licensed machinists and CNC tool-and-die technicians are the primary installers.

This milling tip is designed for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials, corresponding to ISO material codes P, M, K, N, S, and H. Typical applications include chamfering, edge breaking, and countersinking operations on milling machines and machining centers where the MM16 Minimaster modular tool system is in use. Right-hand cutting orientation is standard. The tip does not support coolant-through delivery.

Installation Notes

Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and all stored energy dissipated before changing milling tips. Inspect the holder pocket for chips or damage before seating the replacement tip to ensure proper registration and runout.
