Product Description

The SECO 74000303 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying ANSI/ISO designation APFT160416L-M13, designed for use in indexable milling cutters in demanding metal-removal operations. This left-hand, single-sided parallelogram insert features a CVD-applied titanium carbonitride (TiCN) coating over a medium-grain solid carbide substrate. The T25M manufacturer grade targets steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. With a positive rake angle of 15 degrees, an 11-degree relief angle, and a honed cutting edge, the insert reduces cutting forces and provides controlled chip formation across a range of workpiece materials.

This insert is suited for face milling and shoulder milling applications in industrial machining environments. The M13 chip breaker geometry is optimized for medium-grain material applications and handles interrupted cuts in ferrous and difficult-to-machine alloys. Installation is performed by qualified machinists and tooling setup personnel using compatible milling cutter bodies from the SECO R217.69-16 and R220.69-16 series. The screw-holding method provides secure seating under high cutting loads. The insert is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 10 units.

Installation Notes

Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the correct torque driver and insert screw specified by the cutter body manufacturer — do not overtighten, as this can crack the carbide. Inspect the pocket seat and clamping screw for wear or debris before seating a new insert.
