The SECO 17016492 is a single-end ball end mill from the SPB540 series, designed for both roughing and finishing operations in demanding machining environments. Built from cobalt high-speed steel and coated with TiCN via PVD process, this tool delivers elevated wear resistance and thermal hardness at the cutting edge. It features a 3/4 inch diameter with a matching 3/4 inch Weldon flat shank, a 1-5/8 inch length of cut, and a 3-7/8 inch overall length. The 30-degree medium helix angle and 4-flute spiral configuration support efficient chip evacuation and surface finish across a range of workpiece materials. Licensed machinists and CNC operators in job shops and production facilities are the primary users of this tool.
This end mill is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous metals, and high-temperature alloys. Its short length type and right-hand cutting and flute direction make it a practical choice for standard vertical and horizontal machining center setups. The centercutting geometry enables plunge entry, and the TiCN coating supports extended tool life in abrasive and work-hardening materials. It ships as a single-unit package.

Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Power down and lock out the spindle before mounting or removing the tool. Seat the Weldon flat shank fully into the tool holder and tighten the set screw against the flat to prevent axial pull-out. Verify runout does not exceed the specified TIR maximum before beginning a cut.
