The SECO 17016467 is a cobalt square end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining environments. Built from M42 cobalt steel with a TiCN (Titanium Carbonitride) coating, this tool delivers improved hardness and wear resistance compared to standard HSS tooling. It features a 2 inch cutting diameter, 6 spiral flutes with a 30-degree helix angle, and a 2 inch length of cut. The single-end, centercutting design supports both plunge and peripheral milling operations. It is part of SECO series SPC408 and is intended for installation in CNC machining centers and manual mills by machinists working in precision metal fabrication and general machining.
This end mill is suited for cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and other non-ferrous metals, and high-temperature alloys. The TiCN coating extends tool life when running higher surface speeds and feeds in these materials. The stub length configuration keeps the tool rigid during aggressive passes. The right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute geometry make it compatible with standard CNC spindle setups. It fits applications requiring a 1-1/4 inch shank interface in standard end mill holders or collet chucks.
Designed for use in standard end mill holders and collet chucks accepting a 1-1/4 inch shank diameter. Compatible workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous metals, and high-temperature alloys per SECO series SPC408 specifications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following standard toolholding procedures for end mills. Ensure the shank is fully seated and secured in the holder to the recommended engagement depth before operation. Verify spindle runout does not exceed the specified TIR maximum of 0.0010 inches before beginning a cut. Never exceed the tool's rated cutting parameters for the workpiece material, and always use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant for the material being machined.
