The SECO 17016435 is a single-end square end mill designed for material removal in ferrous and non-ferrous machining applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel and coated with TiCN, it delivers improved wear resistance and thermal stability compared to standard HSS tooling. The cutter measures 0.75 inches in diameter with a 1.625-inch length of cut and an overall length of 3.875 inches. Six spiral flutes with a 30-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation and a smooth finish. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry as well as conventional peripheral milling. This tool is installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals working on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills.
The 17016435 is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous metals, and high-temperature alloys. Its short-length classification makes it ideal for rigid setups where overhang must be minimized to control vibration and deflection. The 0.75-inch shank diameter matches standard ER and side-lock collet systems commonly used in production and job-shop environments. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute geometry is the standard orientation for conventional and climb milling on vertical machining centers.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard tooling selection for 0.75-inch diameter tool holders, ER collet chucks, and side-lock holders in CNC machining centers and manual mills. Compatible workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous metals, and high-temperature alloys as indicated by material codes P, M, K, N, and S.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing end mills from the holder. Verify holder bore tolerance and collet condition before seating the shank to avoid runout that exceeds the specified TIR maximum. Torque collet nuts to the tool holder manufacturer specifications — do not use values not provided with your specific holder.
