The SECO 17016433 is a single-end, square-profile cobalt end mill designed for metal removal in demanding machining applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel and coated with TiCN, it provides increased hardness and heat resistance compared to standard HSS tooling. The cutter measures 0.75 inches in diameter with a 3-inch length of cut, making it a long-series tool well suited for deep-pocket and shoulder milling. Four right-hand spiral flutes with a 30-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation. The center-cutting geometry allows plunge entry without pre-drilling. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals select this series for production runs on ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials.
The 17016433 is rated for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous alloys, and high-temperature alloys, covering material codes P, M, K, N, and S. The long length-of-cut range, starting at 2 inches and extending to 3 inches, makes this tool a practical choice for mold work, fixture machining, and deep-slot applications where standard-length end mills cannot reach. The 0.75-inch shank diameter is compatible with standard ER and side-lock tool holders used in CNC machining centers and manual knee mills. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration is the standard for conventional and climb milling on these platforms.

Installation is performed by a machinist or tooling technician. Secure the 0.75-inch shank in a clean, properly sized collet or end mill holder and torque to the tool-holder manufacturer's specification. Confirm runout does not exceed the 0.0010-inch TIR maximum before beginning a cut. Inspect the cutting edges and coating for chips or wear before each use; a damaged TiCN coating accelerates edge breakdown on hardened materials.
