The SECO 17016431 is a single-end square end mill designed for material removal in ferrous and non-ferrous machining applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel and coated with TiCN, it delivers elevated heat and wear resistance compared to standard HSS tooling. The cutter measures 0.75 inches in diameter with a 1.625-inch length of cut and a 3.875-inch overall length. Four right-hand spiral flutes at a 30-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. The centercutting geometry allows plunge milling as well as conventional side milling. This tool is well suited for machinists and toolroom operators working on manual mills, CNC machining centers, and knee mills.
The 17016431 is rated for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous materials, and high-temperature alloys, covering ISO material groups P, M, K, N, and S. The short-length classification makes it a rigid choice for general-purpose slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling where reach is not a constraint. The 3/4-inch shank diameter matches standard collets and end mill holders common in production and toolroom environments. This tool is part of the SECO SPC408 series.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard toolroom selection for 3/4-inch end mill holders, collet chucks, and Weldon-shank holders used in manual and CNC milling machines. Rated for ISO material groups P, M, K, N, and S as specified by the manufacturer.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer's clamping and runout specifications. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the holder to the recommended engagement depth and verify runout with a dial indicator before cutting. Do not exceed the tool's rated length-of-cut depth in a single pass.
