The SECO 17016413 is a single-end square end mill designed for precision milling in ferrous and non-ferrous metals across a range of industrial and job-shop applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel and coated with TiCN for improved wear resistance and surface hardness, this tool delivers consistent performance in demanding cutting environments. It measures 0.375 inches in diameter with a 0.75-inch length of cut, a 0.375-inch shank diameter, and a 2.5-inch overall length. The 4-flute, right-hand spiral design provides efficient chip evacuation and a smooth finish. This end mill is part of the SECO SPC408 series and is classified as a short-length tool, suited for stable, close-tolerance milling operations.
This end mill is rated for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous materials, and high-temperature alloys, covering ISO material codes P, M, K, N, and S. It is centercutting, allowing plunge milling in addition to peripheral and slot milling. The 30-degree helix angle promotes smooth cutting action on a wide range of workpiece materials. Typical applications include slot milling, profiling, and step milling in CNC machining centers, manual knee mills, and similar machine tools. It is appropriate for use in production shops, tool rooms, and maintenance machining environments.

Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC operator. Secure the shank fully in a properly sized collet or end mill holder and torque to the machine tool manufacturer's specification. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before tool changes. Do not exceed the recommended depth of cut or feed rate for the workpiece material and tool diameter, as overloading a 0.375-inch end mill can cause tool breakage.
