Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel and coated with TiCN (Titanium Carbonitride), this tool delivers improved hardness and wear resistance compared to standard HSS end mills. Key dimensions include a 0.25-inch mill diameter, a 1.25-inch length of cut, a 0.375-inch shank diameter, and a 3.0625-inch overall length. The 4-flute, right-hand spiral configuration with a 30-degree helix angle suits finishing and semi-finishing passes across a wide range of workpiece materials. This end mill is designed for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous metals, and high-temperature alloys, covering ISO material codes P, M, K, N, and S. The centercutting geometry allows both peripheral and plunge cutting, making it versatile for slotting, profiling, and pocket milling operations. It belongs to the SPC408 series and is sized as a regular-length tool, appropriate for general-purpose milling where extended reach is not required. No coolant-through capability is present, so external flood or mist coolant is recommended when cutting harder materials.

Secure the shank in a collet or end mill holder to the appropriate holding torque specified by the toolholder manufacturer — do not exceed shank tolerance limits. Verify runout after installation; maximum TIR for this tool is 0.001 inches.
