The SECO 17016385 is a single-end square end mill designed for material removal in ferrous and high-temperature alloy applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel and coated with TiCN, it delivers strong wear resistance and heat tolerance compared to standard HSS tooling. The 1.25-inch diameter cutting face pairs with a 1.625-inch length of cut and a 30-degree helix spiral flute geometry that promotes efficient chip evacuation. With two flutes and a centercutting design, this end mill handles full-slot milling, shoulder milling, and plunge operations. It fits standard 1.25-inch collets or milling chucks and is sized for use on knee mills, CNC machining centers, and manual knee mills targeting production or maintenance work.
This end mill is rated for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys, covering ISO material groups P, M, K, and S. The stub length classification keeps deflection low when cutting harder workpiece materials. It is appropriate for job shops, toolrooms, and production environments where a general-purpose cobalt end mill with enhanced coating is preferred over uncoated HSS. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration is the standard orientation for most CNC and manual milling setups.
Part of the SECO SP205 series. Designed for use with 1.25-inch ID collets, end mill holders, or milling chucks on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines. Rated for steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys per ISO material groups P, M, K, and S.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in a clean, undamaged collet or holder and torque the retention hardware to the machine manufacturer's specification. Verify runout does not exceed 0.001 inches TIR before cutting, and confirm spindle rotation is set to right-hand before engaging the workpiece.
