The SECO 17016367 is a 2-flute cobalt square end mill designed for precision milling in ferrous and high-temperature alloy applications. Built to Series SP205 specifications, it features a TiCN coating that reduces friction and extends tool life in demanding cuts. The mill diameter measures 0.2188 inches (7/32 inch) with a 0.5000-inch length of cut and a 3/8-inch shank diameter. Overall length is 2.3125 inches. The 30-degree helix angle with right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation. This end mill is installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals using CNC or manual milling machines.
This end mill is suited for short-reach milling operations in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys. The centercutting design allows it to plunge directly into the workpiece, making it effective for slot milling, pocketing, and profiling. The M42 cobalt material grade provides heat and wear resistance required when machining work-hardening materials such as stainless steel and nickel-based high-temp alloys. It is a single-end tool intended for use where a short flute length and compact overall length are required.
The SECO 17016367 is designed for use on CNC and manual milling machines accepting a 3/8-inch straight shank. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys (material codes P, M, K, S).
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool builder's toolholding torque and runout specifications. Secure the shank fully in a collet or end mill holder, ensuring TIR does not exceed 0.0010 inches as specified. Confirm spindle direction is right-hand before engaging the cut. Do not exceed the tool's rated length of cut or apply side loads beyond the 0.5000-inch flute engagement depth.
