Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel and coated with TiCN for elevated heat and wear resistance, it delivers reliable performance in demanding milling operations. The 1.25 inch diameter, 6-flute configuration with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation while maintaining a rigid cutting profile. With a 2-inch length of cut and 4.5-inch overall length, this is a short-series tool suited for setups where overhang and deflection must be minimized. Installation and operation require a standard end mill holder or collet chuck compatible with a 1.25 inch shank.
This roughing end mill is intended for use in CNC milling machines and manual knee mills where stock removal rates matter. The TiCN coating and M42 substrate make it well suited for cutting steel, stainless steel, and high-temp alloys. The right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute direction follow standard industry convention. It is a short-series tool, making it a practical choice when machining pockets, slots, or profiles where clearance is limited. No coolant-through capability means it relies on flood, mist, or air-blast coolant delivered externally.
Designed for use in any milling machine spindle or toolholder accepting a 1.25 inch straight shank end mill. Shank diameter tolerance is -0.0001 to -0.0005 inches for a secure fit in precision collet chucks and end mill holders.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety protocols. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before installing or removing the tool. Seat the shank fully into the holder and torque the drawbar or set screws to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or wear before each use, as a damaged edge on a roughing tool can cause tool pull-out or workpiece damage under load.
