The SECO 17014845 is a single-end roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in milling operations. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel and coated with TiAlN for heat and wear resistance, this tool handles tough ferrous and stainless alloys where standard HSS cutters fall short. It carries a 3/4-inch mill diameter, a 3-inch length of cut, and a 5-1/4-inch overall length. The 4-flute, right-hand spiral geometry with a 30-degree maximum helix angle produces the chip-breaking action needed to reduce cutting forces and prevent recutting in deep-cavity passes. This is a shop-floor tool installed and operated by machinists and tool-and-die professionals in production and job-shop environments.
This end mill is suited for roughing passes on vertical and horizontal milling machines, CNC machining centers, and manual knee mills. The TiAlN coating extends tool life in dry or near-dry cutting conditions where heat generation is high. The regular-length profile and 3/4-inch shank make it compatible with standard ER, Weldon, and milling chuck toolholders. It is appropriate for slotting, peripheral milling, and pocketing operations in steel, alloy steel, and other medium-to-hard materials.
