The SECO 17014842 is a single-end roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in milling operations. It features a 3/4 inch diameter cobalt body with a TiAlN coating, four flutes, and a 30-degree maximum helix angle. The cobalt substrate is M42 grade, which offers improved heat and wear resistance over standard high-speed steel. With a 1.625 inch length of cut and 3.875 inch overall length, this tool is suited for long-reach slotting and profiling cuts. The right-hand cutting and right-hand spiral flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working in job shops, tool rooms, and production environments are the primary users.
This roughing end mill is built for use on ferrous and non-ferrous materials in vertical and horizontal milling machines as well as CNC machining centers. The long-length configuration makes it a practical choice for applications where a standard-length tool cannot reach the full depth of cut. The TiAlN coating extends tool life in dry and semi-dry cutting conditions common in high-speed operations. It is a single-end design, meaning the tool is replaced when the cutting end is worn rather than flipped or reversed.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-application roughing end mill for use in standard 3/4 inch collet chucks, end mill holders, and shrink-fit tooling systems compatible with 3/4 inch shank tooling.
This tool is installed by machinists in collet chucks or end mill holders rated for 3/4 inch shank tooling. Ensure the machine spindle and tool holder are fully stopped and locked out before mounting or removing the end mill. Verify shank runout is within tolerance before beginning a cut, as excessive runout accelerates wear and reduces surface finish quality. This is not a center-cutting tool and should not be used for plunge cuts directly into solid material.
