The SECO 17014841 is a single-end cobalt roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in milling operations. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel with a TiAlN coating, it delivers extended tool life in ferrous and difficult-to-machine materials. The 3/4 inch diameter tool features 4 spiral flutes with a right-hand cutting direction and a 30-degree maximum helix angle. With a 1.5 inch length of cut and 3.75 inch overall length, it is sized for general roughing passes in vertical mills and machining centers. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals use this end mill where high heat resistance and edge retention are required.
This roughing end mill is suited for job shops, production machining environments, and maintenance shops performing material removal on steel, stainless, and similar alloys. The TiAlN coating supports dry and semi-dry cutting conditions where heat buildup is a concern. It is a non-centercutting, non-coolant-through design intended for peripheral roughing cuts rather than plunge entry. The 3/4 inch shank matches standard collet and end mill holder sizes common across most vertical and horizontal milling setups.
Designed as an OEM-style roughing end mill for use in standard 3/4 inch collet chucks, end mill holders, and milling machine spindles accepting right-hand tooling.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Secure the shank fully within the toolholder to the recommended minimum engagement depth before tightening. Verify spindle speed and feed rate against material specifications before running. Inspect the cutting edges for wear or chipping before each use and replace when tolerances cannot be maintained.
