The SECO 17014601 is a single-end cobalt roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in milling applications. Manufactured from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it delivers superior heat and wear resistance compared to standard HSS tooling. The 3-flute geometry provides a balance of chip clearance and cutting edge strength, while the 36-degree high-helix spiral flute design reduces cutting forces and improves surface finish during roughing passes. At 0.75 inches in diameter with a 1.625-inch length of cut and 3.875-inch overall length, it fits standard 3/4-inch collets and end mill holders. The bright uncoated finish suits a broad range of ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials.
This end mill is suited to job shops, tool rooms, and production machining environments where roughing cuts demand a durable, re-sharpenable cobalt tool. It is appropriate for use on vertical and horizontal milling machines and machining centers. The long-series configuration provides additional reach for deeper pockets and stepped features. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional and climb milling operations on most CNC and manual platforms.
Designed as an OEM-style roughing end mill fitting standard 3/4-inch end mill holders, collet chucks, and milling machine spindles accepting 3/4-inch shank tooling.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine powered down and in a locked-out state per applicable machine guarding and lockout/tagout procedures. Ensure the shank is fully seated and the tool holder is torqued to the holder manufacturer's specification before operation. Inspect the collet or holder for wear before each use, as a worn seat will reduce runout accuracy and shorten tool life. Do not exceed the tool's rated cutting parameters for the workpiece material.
