The SECO 17014212 is a single-end cobalt roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in demanding machining applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it delivers heat and wear resistance where standard HSS tools fall short. The tool features a 3/4-inch mill diameter, a 3-inch length of cut, and a 5-1/4-inch overall length. The bright, uncoated finish is suited for applications where coating is not required or where re-sharpening is anticipated. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard. This tool is installed and used by machinists and CNC operators in production and job shop environments.
This roughing end mill is intended for use in milling operations on ferrous and non-ferrous metals where high material removal rates are the priority. The 4-flute, spiral-flute geometry with a 30-degree maximum helix angle and chipbreaker-style roughing profile reduces cutting forces and manages chip evacuation in slotting, peripheral milling, and roughing passes. It is not center-cutting, making it appropriate for side milling and peripheral roughing rather than plunge cuts. The 3/4-inch shank diameter matches the mill diameter for straightforward toolholder setup in standard end mill holders and collet chucks.
Designed as an OEM-style single-end roughing end mill for use in standard 3/4-inch end mill holders, milling chucks, and collet-style toolholders on vertical and horizontal milling machines and CNC machining centers.
This tool is installed by machinists and CNC operators using standard end mill holders or collet chucks sized for a 3/4-inch shank. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before installing or removing the tool. Verify shank seating depth and holder runout before beginning a cut. This tool is not center-cutting and should not be used for direct plunge operations.
