The SECO 17014169 is a single-end cobalt roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in milling operations. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it delivers heat and wear resistance needed for cutting ferrous metals and tough alloys. The 1.25-inch diameter, six-flute geometry with a bright/uncoated finish and 30-degree maximum helix angle produces efficient chip evacuation while reducing chatter. With a 3-inch length of cut and 5.5-inch overall length, this tool suits deep-pocket and slot-milling passes on machining centers and knee mills. It is installed and operated by machinists and tool-and-die professionals in job shops and production environments.
This roughing end mill fits standard vertical and horizontal milling applications where rapid stock removal is the priority over surface finish. The 1.25-inch shank diameter mounts directly in ER or side-lock holders with matching bore. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction make it compatible with conventional CNC machining center spindles. The regular-length series (REM710) is suited for general-purpose roughing passes on carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless, and similar materials where cobalt tooling is specified.
Designed as an OEM-style roughing end mill for use in standard milling chucks, collet holders, and side-lock toolholders accepting a 1.25-inch shank diameter on vertical and horizontal machining centers.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist. Power down and lock out the spindle drive before seating or removing the tool from the holder. Verify holder bore and runout before use; excessive runout accelerates tool wear on multi-flute roughing tools. This tool is not center-cutting and requires a pre-bored or pre-drilled entry — do not plunge directly into solid stock.
