The SECO 17014165 is a single-end cobalt roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in milling operations. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel with a bright, uncoated finish, this end mill features 6 right-hand spiral flutes and a 30-degree maximum helix angle. The 1.25-inch mill diameter and 0.75-inch length of cut make it well suited for roughing passes where chip clearance and tool durability are priorities. It is sized for use in conventional milling machines and machining centers where heavy stock removal is required before finishing operations.
This end mill is used in metalworking and fabrication shops for roughing cuts on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The M42 cobalt construction provides heat and wear resistance suited to harder alloys and interrupted cuts. The 0.75-inch shank diameter fits standard end mill holders and collet chucks. It is a regular-length tool with right-hand cutting direction, making it a straightforward drop-in for most horizontal and vertical milling setups. Machinists and toolroom technicians in job shops, manufacturing facilities, and maintenance departments are the typical end users.
Designed as a roughing end mill replacement for applications requiring a 1.25-inch diameter, 6-flute, single-end cobalt tool with a 0.75-inch shank in standard end mill holders and collet chucks.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Before mounting, power down and lock out the machine spindle in accordance with facility lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the 0.75-inch shank fully in the holder and torque the retention hardware per the holder manufacturer's specifications. This tool is non-centercutting and should not be used for direct plunge cuts.
