The SECO 17014136 is a single-end roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in milling applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel with a bright uncoated finish, it handles tough ferrous and non-ferrous materials while maintaining edge integrity under heat. The 1-inch mill diameter and 5-flute configuration deliver fast stock removal with manageable chip loads. The spiral right-hand flute geometry with a 30-degree maximum helix angle provides efficient cutting action and smooth chip evacuation. Licensed machinists and tool-and-die professionals rely on this style of end mill for roughing passes before finishing operations.
This end mill is suited for horizontal and vertical milling machine setups in job shops, production environments, and maintenance machining. With a 2-inch length of cut and 4.5-inch overall length, it fits standard tool holders accepting a 1-inch shank diameter. The regular length profile keeps deflection low during heavy roughing cuts. It is not center-cutting and does not feature coolant-through capability, making it best applied in conventional flood-coolant or dry roughing passes on milling machines with standard spindle tooling.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement-grade roughing end mill compatible with standard milling machine tool holders accepting a 1-inch straight shank diameter.
Installation is performed by machinists using standard end mill holders, collet chucks, or Weldon-style set-screw holders rated for 1-inch shank tooling. Confirm holder runout is within acceptable tolerance before securing the shank, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on roughing geometry. Power down and lock out the spindle drive before loading or removing tooling per standard machine shop lockout procedures. Do not use this tool as a center-drilling or plunge-entry tool — it is not center-cutting.
