The SECO 17014106 is a single-end roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in milling applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel with a bright/uncoated finish, it delivers the heat and wear resistance required for tough ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The tool features a 0.75-inch mill diameter, a 1.25-inch length of cut, and a 4-flute spiral geometry with a 30-degree maximum helix angle. The right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional CNC and manual milling machine setups. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals reach for this end mill when hogging stock quickly before finishing passes.
This end mill suits roughing operations on vertical mills, CNC machining centers, and knee mills in job shop, maintenance, and production environments. Its short length type and 0.75-inch shank diameter make it compatible with standard ER, R8, and CAT tool holders accepting 0.75-inch shanks. It is suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral roughing in steel, stainless, cast iron, and similar materials where chip-breaking geometry handles high chip loads without coolant-through capability.
Designed as an OEM-style roughing end mill for use in any milling application requiring a 0.75-inch single-end 4-flute cobalt tool with a short length of cut and 0.75-inch straight shank.
Installation is performed by machinists in machine shop environments. Ensure the spindle is fully powered down and locked before inserting or removing the end mill from the tool holder. Verify tool holder runout and shank seating before operation, as excessive runout accelerates tool wear. This tool is not center-cutting and should not be used for direct plunge entry into solid material.
