The SECO 17014102 is a single-end cobalt roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in ferrous and difficult-to-machine workpiece materials. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel and coated with TiCN for heat and wear resistance, it features four right-hand spiral flutes with a 30-degree maximum helix angle. The mill diameter is 0.625 inches with a matching 0.625-inch shank diameter. The length of cut is 1.625 inches and overall length is 3.75 inches. This tool is intended for use by machinists and CNC operators in production and job-shop environments where rapid stock removal is the primary objective.
This end mill is suited for roughing passes on milling machines, machining centers, and CNC mills in both manual and automated setups. The TiCN coating extends tool life in applications involving steel, stainless, and cast iron. The regular-length geometry makes it appropriate for standard reach applications where workholding and setup clearances allow direct chuck or collet mounting without extension. It is a right-hand cutting, right-hand flute configuration, which is the standard orientation for conventional vertical and horizontal milling operations.
Designed as a standard-shank roughing end mill compatible with 5/8-inch collets, end mill holders, and milling chucks on vertical and horizontal machining centers or manual knee mills. Part of the SECO REM710 series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the holder to the recommended gauge length and torque the retention hardware per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. This tool is non-centercutting and must not be used for direct plunge operations; use a centercutting end mill or drill a pilot hole before engaging this tool.
