The SECO 17014093 is a single-end cobalt roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in ferrous and tough alloy applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it delivers heat resistance and edge retention that standard HSS tools cannot match. The mill measures 9/16 inch (0.5625 inch) in diameter with a 1/2 inch shank, a 1-3/8 inch length of cut, and a 3-3/8 inch overall length. The bright/uncoated finish and 4-flute, right-hand spiral geometry make it well suited for roughing passes where chip evacuation and tool durability are the primary concerns. It weighs 0.3 pounds. This tool is installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in job shop and production environments.
This end mill is used in vertical and horizontal milling machines, knee mills, and CNC machining centers for roughing operations on steel, stainless, and similar hard-to-machine alloys. The REM710 series regular-length geometry fits standard toolholders with a 1/2 inch bore. The 30-degree maximum helix angle supports stable cutting at higher chip loads typical of roughing work. It is not center-cutting and is not intended for plunge entry without a pre-drilled pilot hole.

Installation is performed by qualified machinists using appropriate end mill holders or collet chucks rated for the 1/2 inch shank diameter. This tool is not center-cutting and must not be used for direct plunge cuts without a pre-drilled entry point.
