The SECO 17014065 is a single-end cobalt roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in metalworking and machining operations. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, this tool handles harder workpiece materials and elevated cutting temperatures that standard HSS mills cannot sustain. The 1/4 inch mill diameter, 5/8 inch length of cut, and 4-flute spiral geometry combine to produce fast stock removal with manageable chip loads. The bright, uncoated finish is suitable for general-purpose ferrous and non-ferrous applications. Licensed machinists and tool-and-die professionals are the primary installers and operators of this end mill in CNC and manual milling environments.
This end mill fits standard 3/8 inch collet or end mill holder setups on vertical and horizontal milling machines, CNC machining centers, and manual knee mills. The regular-length configuration and right-hand cutting with right-hand flute direction make it a straightforward drop-in for general roughing passes. With a 2-7/16 inch overall length, it suits shallow to moderate reach applications without requiring extended-reach tooling. The series REM710 designation identifies it within SECO's roughing end mill product line.
Designed as an OEM-style roughing end mill for use in standard 3/8 inch end mill holders or collet chucks on CNC and manual milling machines requiring a 1/4 inch diameter single-end roughing tool.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Always power down and lock out the spindle before changing tooling. Secure the shank fully within the holder to the recommended minimum insertion depth and verify runout with a dial indicator before engaging a cut. This tool is not centercutting — do not attempt direct plunge entry into solid material.
