The SECO 17014063 is a single-end roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in milling operations. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it runs at a 3/16 inch (0.1875 inch) mill diameter with a 1/2 inch length of cut and a 3/8 inch shank diameter. The bright, uncoated finish and 30-degree maximum helix angle support right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction. Four flutes distribute cutting forces evenly across the pass. This tool is installed and operated by machinists and tool-and-die professionals working on manual or CNC milling equipment.
This end mill suits metal roughing applications where stock needs to be removed quickly before a finishing pass. The regular-length geometry fits standard milling machine spindles. It is appropriate for use in job shops, maintenance shops, and production environments handling ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The M42 cobalt construction provides added heat and wear resistance compared to standard high-speed steel, making it a practical choice for harder alloy materials where heat buildup during the cut is a concern.
Designed for use in standard milling machine collets and end mill holders accepting a 3/8 inch shank diameter. Suitable as a direct replacement for other single-end roughing end mills matching the SECO REM710 series geometry and dimension specifications.
Installation is performed by a machinist or qualified toolroom technician. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the end mill from the holder. Verify collet or chuck bore matches the 3/8 inch shank diameter and that runout is within acceptable tolerance before beginning a cut. Do not exceed the manufacturer-recommended depth of cut or feed rate for the work material and machine setup.
