The SECO 17013525 is a single-end roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in milling applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel and finished with a TiCN coating, this tool handles tough ferrous and non-ferrous materials with extended tool life. It features a 1.75-inch milling diameter, a 1.25-inch shank diameter, and 6 spiral flutes with a 30-degree maximum helix angle. The right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction make it a standard fit for conventional milling setups. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals use this end mill for roughing passes where chip evacuation and heat resistance are priorities.
This end mill is suited for use in vertical and horizontal machining centers as well as manual knee mills capable of accepting a 1.25-inch shank. The 4-inch length of cut and 6.5-inch overall length make it appropriate for deep-pocket roughing and profiling operations where a standard-reach tool is acceptable. The REM710 series designation places it in SECO's line of high-performance roughing tools. It is not center-cutting, so it is not intended for plunge entry. Pre-drill or ramp entry is required when starting cuts in solid material.
Designed as a standard single-end roughing end mill with a 1.25-inch straight shank, compatible with milling machine spindles and tool holders accepting that shank diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with end mill tooling and mill setup procedures. Power down and lock out the machine before inserting or removing the end mill from the tool holder. Ensure the shank is fully seated and that the tool holder is torqued to the machine manufacturer's specification. Because this tool is not center-cutting, avoid plunge entry into solid material.
