The SECO 17013520 is a single-end roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in ferrous and non-ferrous machining applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel and finished with a TiCN coating, it delivers increased hardness and heat resistance compared to standard HSS tooling. The cutter measures 1.5 inches in diameter with a 1.25-inch shank diameter and features six right-hand spiral flutes with a 30-degree maximum helix angle. With 8 inches of length of cut and a 10.5-inch overall length, this tool is suited for deep-reach roughing passes. It is installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals working on CNC milling machines and manual mills.
This end mill is used in production and job-shop environments where high chip loads and extended cutting lengths are required. The REM710 series design is optimized for roughing operations in alloy steels, stainless, and other tough materials. The non-center-cutting geometry means it is intended for peripheral cutting and side-milling passes rather than plunge entry. The 1.25-inch shank fits standard R8, CAT, BT, and HSK toolholders sized for that shank diameter.

Installation is performed by qualified machinists. Secure the shank fully within the toolholder and verify runout before cutting. Always bring the spindle to a complete stop and follow lockout/tagout procedures before changing tooling. Non-center-cutting geometry requires a pre-drilled or pre-milled entry point — do not plunge directly into solid material.
