The SECO 17013194 is a corner chamfer end mill engineered for demanding material removal in stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. Part of the VFP635 series, it features a 1.5-inch mill diameter, a 6-inch length of cut, and a 45-degree chamfer angle with a 0.0400-inch chamfer width. Constructed from M42 cobalt high-speed steel with a bright uncoated finish, it is centercutting and runs in a right-hand cutting direction with helical flutes. With a super-close pitch and four flutes, it is designed for roughing applications requiring reliable chip control and edge stability in tough alloys. Licensed machinists and CNC programmers typically specify this tool for high-stress operations.
This end mill is suited for shouldering, slotting, ramp-down milling, helical interpolation, drill milling, and plunging and recessing operations. Its long-reach geometry and Weldon flat shank make it compatible with standard Weldon-style tool holders. The 1.25-inch shank diameter and 8.5-inch overall length accommodate setups requiring extended reach into deep pockets or complex workpiece geometry. It is most commonly used in CNC machining centers working with difficult-to-machine materials such as stainless steel and nickel-based superalloys.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers with Weldon-style tool holders accepting a 1.25-inch shank diameter. Intended for primary use in stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium workpiece materials per manufacturer specification.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the tool holder manufacturer torque and runout specifications. Ensure the Weldon flat is properly seated against the set screw before any cutting operation. Verify spindle speed, feed rate, and depth of cut are within the parameters recommended for cobalt tooling in the target workpiece material. Never exceed the rated depth of cut or engage the tool without confirming tool holder clamping force is adequate for the intended application.
