The SECO 17013193 is a corner chamfer end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding materials including stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel with a bright/uncoated finish, this tool features a 1.5-inch mill diameter, 4-inch length of cut, and a 45-degree chamfer angle with a 0.0400-inch chamfer width. The four-flute, right-hand cutting configuration with a super-close pitch and helical flute geometry supports aggressive material removal rates while maintaining edge stability. It is a single-end, centercutting design, making it suitable for plunging, ramping, and slotting operations performed by machinists and toolroom professionals.
This end mill is intended for shouldering, slotting, rampdown, helical interpolation, drill mill operations, and plunging and recessing applications. The VFP635 series is engineered primarily for work in stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium where tool rigidity and edge toughness are critical. The Weldon flat shank measures 1.25 inches in diameter, providing secure clamping in standard Weldon-style holders. The 6.5-inch overall length accommodates moderate reach requirements in vertical and horizontal machining center setups.
Designed for use in standard Weldon-style end mill holders accepting a 1.25-inch shank diameter. Primary workpiece materials are stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium (material codes M and S). Part of the SECO VFP635 series; manufacturer catalog number VFP635-1.500-P3-C040.3-Z6.
Installation is performed by machinists or toolroom technicians using a Weldon-style end mill holder and appropriate set screws torqued per machine tool manufacturer specifications. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and locked out before tool changes. Confirm shank seating depth and runout with a dial indicator before commencing cuts. Coolant through is not supported on this tool; apply cutting fluid externally as required by the workpiece material and operation.
