The SECO 17013191 is a corner chamfer end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel with a bright/uncoated finish, this single-end mill features a 1-1/2 inch diameter, four helical flutes, and a 45-degree chamfer angle with a 0.0400 inch chamfer width. The stub-length geometry and super-close pitch make it well suited for roughing operations where rigidity and chip control are priorities. Machinists and toolroom professionals will find this tool appropriate for shouldering, slotting, rampdown, helical interpolation, drill milling, plunging, and recessing operations on difficult materials.
This end mill is optimized for cutting stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium — material classifications M and S. The right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting orientation are standard for conventional CNC milling setups. The VFP635 series is a recognized platform for aggressive cutting in materials that challenge standard HSS tooling. The Weldon flat shank ensures positive drive with minimal slippage in standard end mill holders. This tool is centercutting, enabling plunge entry without a pre-drilled pilot hole.
Designed for use in standard CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped to accept a 1-1/4 inch Weldon flat shank. Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom professional. Secure the Weldon flat shank in a properly sized end mill holder and tighten the set screw against the flat to prevent rotation under load. Confirm spindle speed and feed rate are appropriate for the workpiece material and depth of cut before engaging the tool. Do not exceed the manufacturer-rated cutting parameters for cobalt tooling in hardened or abrasive materials.
