The SECO 17013181 is a corner chamfer end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel with a bright/uncoated finish, this single-end mill features a 1-inch cutting diameter, a 3-inch length of cut, and a 45-degree chamfer angle with a 0.0300-inch chamfer width. The four right-hand helical flutes and super-close pitch geometry are optimized for shouldering, slotting, ramp-down milling, helical interpolation, drill mill operations, and plunging and recessing. It is center-cutting and carries a Weldon Flat shank for secure tool holding. Part of the VFP635 series, this tool is intended for machining shops and CNC operators working in production and repair environments.
This end mill is engineered primarily for cutting stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium — material categories where cobalt tooling and super-close pitch are standard choices for heat resistance and edge stability. Typical applications include aerospace component machining, precision fabrication, and maintenance machining where tight tolerances and difficult workpiece materials are routine. The medium helix style balances cutting forces across the four flutes for consistent chip evacuation in deep-slot and side-milling passes. The Weldon Flat shank accommodates standard side-lock toolholders common in vertical and horizontal machining centers.
Part of the SECO VFP635 series. Designed for use in CNC machining centers with standard 1-inch side-lock or Weldon Flat toolholders. Primary workpiece materials are stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium (material codes M and S). Manufacturers catalog number VFP635-1.000-D3-C030.3-Z6.
Installation is performed by CNC machinists or tool-and-die professionals. Power down and lock out the spindle before loading or unloading the tool. Secure the Weldon Flat shank in a properly sized side-lock holder and verify runout with a dial indicator before cutting. Coolant-through is not supported on this tool; use flood or mist coolant externally where the workpiece material requires it.
