The SECO 17013174 is a corner chamfer end mill designed for high-demand metal removal in stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel and finished bright/uncoated, this single-end mill measures 0.75 inches in diameter with a 1.625-inch length of cut and a 3.56-inch overall length. It carries a 45-degree chamfer angle with a 0.03-inch chamfer width. The four-flute, right-hand helical design runs at a super-close pitch, making it well-suited for shouldering, slotting, rampdown, helical interpolation, drill mill operations, and plunging and recessing applications. Machinists and CNC operators in precision machining environments are the primary users of this tooling.
This end mill fits production and job-shop environments where tight tolerances and difficult workpiece materials are routine. Its centercutting geometry allows direct plunge entry, reducing the need for pre-drilled start holes. The Weldon flat shank provides positive drive retention in standard end mill holders. Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a locked-out, de-energized state per applicable OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the Weldon flat shank fully into the holder and tighten the set screw against the flat before operation. Verify runout with an indicator after clamping. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer's recommended cutting parameters for the workpiece material being machined.
