The SECO 17011892 is a single-end, square-profile end mill ground from M42 cobalt high-speed steel for demanding milling operations. It runs a 1.5-inch cutting diameter with a 4-inch length of cut, delivering the extended reach needed for deep-pocket and slotting work. The 6-flute geometry with a 30-degree right-hand spiral helix provides a balance of chip evacuation and surface finish across a wide range of workpiece materials. The bright uncoated finish is standard for this cobalt grade. Licensed machinists and toolroom operators use this tool in manual and CNC knee mills, vertical machining centers, and similar setups where a large-diameter, long-reach end mill is required.
The 17011892 is designed for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous metals, and high-temperature alloys. Its centercutting design allows direct plunge entry as well as conventional peripheral and slot milling. The 1.25-inch shank diameter seats in standard ER, R8, CAT, or BT toolholders with the appropriate collet or end mill holder. The 6.5-inch overall length suits setups requiring clearance over fixtures or tall workpiece features. This tool falls within the SECO SPC408 long-series end mill family.

A licensed machinist or toolroom technician should install this end mill in a properly sized end mill holder or collet chuck rated for the 1.25-inch shank diameter. Verify toolholder runout before cutting — the TIR maximum for this tool is 0.001 inches. Torque retention screws or collet nuts to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Confirm spindle speed and feed rate are calculated for the 1.5-inch cutting diameter before engaging the workpiece.
