The SECO 17011885 is a single-end cobalt square end mill designed for material removal in ferrous and non-ferrous metalworking applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it delivers heat resistance and edge retention under demanding cutting conditions. The cutter features a 1.25 inch cutting diameter, a 2 inch length of cut, and a 30-degree helix angle with six spiral flutes for efficient chip evacuation. It arrives in a bright, uncoated finish and is centercutting, allowing plunge entry. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working with production milling setups are the primary installers of this tool.
This end mill is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, non-ferrous alloys, and high-temperature alloys. Its short-length profile and six-flute geometry make it well matched to finishing passes and semi-finishing operations where surface quality and dimensional accuracy are priorities. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration is standard for conventional vertical machining centers and manual mills. The 1 inch shank diameter fits ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and Weldon-style tool holders commonly used in production shops.

This tool is installed by machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool holder is clean and free of chips before seating the shank. Torque the retention mechanism according to the tool holder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout against the TIR maximum specification before beginning a cut to avoid premature edge wear or dimensional error.
