The SECO 17011876 is a cobalt square end mill designed for high-performance material removal in professional machining applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it delivers superior heat and wear resistance compared to standard HSS tooling. The cutter measures 1.25 inches in diameter with a 2-inch length of cut, a 1.25-inch shank diameter, and a 4.5-inch overall length. Six spiral flutes and a 30-degree helix angle combine to improve chip evacuation and surface finish quality. This is a single-end, right-hand cutting, right-hand flute tool with a bright uncoated finish, belonging to the Series SPC408 family. It is centercutting capable, allowing plunge entry into workpieces.
This end mill is suited for milling operations on a broad range of materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and other non-ferrous metals, and high-temperature alloys. It is appropriate for use in manual milling machines and CNC machining centers in job shops, production facilities, maintenance departments, and toolrooms. The bright uncoated finish makes it a practical general-purpose choice when specialized coatings are not required by the application.
Designed as a general-purpose replacement or production square end mill for use in standard milling chucks, collet holders, and end mill holders accepting a 1.25-inch straight shank. Compatible with workpiece materials classified under ISO material groups P, M, K, N, and S including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous metals, and high-temperature alloys.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the end mill from the holder. Verify that the holder bore tolerance is compatible with the shank diameter tolerance of -0.0001 to -0.0005 inches before mounting. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before each use, and confirm correct tool stick-out and runout with a dial indicator prior to cutting.
