The SECO 17011875 is a single-end, 6-flute cobalt square end mill designed for milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it delivers toughness and heat resistance suited to demanding cutting applications. The cutter measures 1.25 inches in diameter with a 3-inch length of cut and a 5.5-inch overall length, fitting a 1.25-inch shank. The bright, uncoated finish is standard for this grade. A 30-degree helix angle and right-hand spiral flutes promote smooth chip evacuation and stable cutting across a range of workpiece materials. Licensed machinists and toolroom technicians are the primary installers and users of this tool.
The 17011875 is rated for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous metals, and high-temperature alloys, covering ISO material codes P, M, K, N, and S. It is center-cutting, allowing plunge entry as well as peripheral milling. The short-length classification and rigid 6-flute geometry make it well suited to finishing passes and semi-finish work in production and toolroom environments where runout control is critical. It carries a maximum TIR of 0.001 inch, supporting tight-tolerance work on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills.

Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician. Secure the shank fully in a collet, end mill holder, or Weldon-style holder before operation, and verify runout with a dial indicator before cutting. Always power down the machine spindle and confirm it has come to a complete stop before changing or inspecting the cutter. Do not exceed the manufacturer-recommended cutting parameters for the workpiece material and do not use the tool if chipping or edge wear is visible.
