The SECO 17011835 is a 6-flute cobalt square end mill designed for general-purpose and demanding milling operations in metal-cutting environments. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it delivers superior heat resistance and edge retention compared to standard M2 HSS tooling. The 1-inch cutting diameter pairs with a 3-inch length of cut and a 5.5-inch overall length, making it suitable for deep-pocket and slot milling where reach and rigidity are both required. The bright, uncoated finish is well suited for applications where coatings may cause adhesion or where re-sharpening is anticipated. Licensed machinists and CNC operators are the primary end users of this tooling.
This end mill is rated for cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous materials, and high-temperature alloys, covering the full ISO material categories P, M, K, N, and S. It operates as a centercutting tool, allowing direct plunge entry into the workpiece. The right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute configuration is standard for most vertical machining center and manual mill setups. The 30-degree helix angle promotes effective chip evacuation across this broad material range. It is a single-end tool in the SPC408 series.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard tooling selection for milling operations on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous materials, and high-temperature alloys. Part of the SECO SPC408 series. Fits any machine spindle or collet system accepting a 1-inch shank diameter.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Before mounting, verify the spindle is fully stopped and locked out per facility lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the 1-inch shank fully into a collet or end mill holder and torque to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Inspect runout after mounting using a dial indicator; TIR should not exceed 0.0010 inches as specified for this tool.
