The SECO 17011830 is a cobalt square end mill designed for material removal in demanding machining operations. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it delivers heat resistance and edge retention when cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous metals, and high-temperature alloys. The 1-inch diameter cutter features four spiral flutes with a 30-degree helix angle, providing efficient chip evacuation and a smooth cutting action. With a 4-inch length of cut and 6.5-inch overall length, this is a long-series tool suited for deep-cavity and extended-reach applications. The bright, uncoated finish makes it easy to inspect edge condition after use.
This end mill fits conventional vertical and horizontal milling setups, CNC machining centers, and manual knee mills where a 1-inch shank is supported. The long flute length makes it applicable for deep slot milling, pocketing, and profiling operations where a standard-length end mill cannot reach. It is well suited for job shops, tool rooms, and production environments working with the material groups P, M, K, N, and S per ISO classification. A single-end configuration means the tool is retired when the cutting end is worn.

Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC setup technician. Power down and lock out the spindle before loading or removing the tool. Seat the shank fully in a clean, properly sized end-mill holder or collet and torque the retention fastener according to the holder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout against the published TIR maximum before starting a cut.
