The SECO 17011825 is a single-end, four-flute cobalt square end mill designed for material removal in ferrous and non-ferrous machining operations. Ground from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it delivers increased heat and wear resistance compared to standard M2 HSS tools, making it well-suited for tougher cuts in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and high-temperature alloys. The cutter measures 0.875 inches in diameter with a 1.875-inch length of cut and a 4.125-inch overall length. A 30-degree helix angle promotes smooth chip evacuation and balanced cutting forces. The bright uncoated finish is standard for cobalt tools used across a wide range of general-purpose milling applications.
This end mill is intended for use on vertical machining centers, manual knee mills, and CNC milling setups where a short-length, general-purpose cutter is required. It is centercutting, allowing plunge entry directly into the workpiece. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute geometry make it compatible with standard spindle configurations. Machinists and toolroom operators working in job shops, maintenance environments, or production settings will find it applicable across steel, stainless, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous materials, and high-temperature alloys as identified by ISO material codes P, M, K, N, and S.

Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank to the full recommended engagement depth in the holder and verify runout with a dial indicator before commencing cuts. Consult the machine manufacturer and tooling documentation for appropriate speeds, feeds, and coolant strategy for the workpiece material.
