The SECO 17011794 is a single-end square end mill designed for material removal in demanding machining applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, this tool offers elevated heat and wear resistance compared to standard HSS grades, making it well-suited for harder workpiece materials. The 6-flute geometry paired with a 30-degree right-hand spiral helix delivers efficient chip evacuation and a stable cutting action. The bright/uncoated finish is production-ready out of the box. With a 3/4 inch diameter and 4 inch length of cut, this end mill handles deep-pocket and long-reach slotting, profiling, and contouring operations across a broad range of materials.
This end mill is rated for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous metals, and high-temperature alloys, covering ISO material groups P, M, K, N, and S. It belongs to SECO's SPC408 series and is sized for conventional milling machines, knee mills, CNC machining centers, and similar spindle-driven equipment in job shop or production environments. The single-end configuration and 3/4 inch straight shank allow standard ER or end mill holder mounting. This tool is installed by machinists, toolroom technicians, and CNC operators in metalworking and manufacturing settings.
Designed for use in standard end mill holders, collet chucks, or shrink-fit holders accepting a 3/4 inch straight shank, as commonly found on manual knee mills and CNC vertical machining centers. Rated for steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous metals, and high-temperature alloys per the SPC408 series specification.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in the holder to the recommended engagement depth and torque the retention screw or collet nut to the holder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout against the 0.0010 inch maximum TIR spec before beginning a cut.
