The SECO 17011751 is a cobalt square end mill designed for material removal in milling operations across a range of ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it provides greater heat and wear resistance than standard HSS tools, making it suitable for tougher cuts and longer run times. The tool features a 0.625-inch mill diameter, a 2.5-inch length of cut, and a 4.625-inch overall length. Four spiral flutes with a 30-degree helix angle and a bright uncoated finish support chip evacuation and surface finish in general-purpose milling. The centercutting geometry allows the tool to plunge directly into the workpiece. This is a single-end tool in the long-length SPC408 series.
This end mill is suited for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and other non-ferrous materials, and high-temperature alloys. It fits typical milling applications on vertical mills, CNC machining centers, and manual knee mills where a long-reach tool is needed. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration follow standard spindle orientation for most setups. The long length of cut makes it useful for deep-pocket and side-wall milling where a standard-length tool cannot reach.

Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing tooling. Use a properly sized collet or end mill holder matched to the 0.625-inch shank diameter to maintain runout within specification. Follow the machine manufacturer guidelines for tightening torque and confirm tool runout does not exceed the maximum TIR rating before beginning a cut.
