The SECO 17011737 is a single-end cobalt square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking environments. Manufactured from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it delivers the hardness and heat resistance needed for cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, non-ferrous metals, and high-temperature alloys. The tool features a 0.5 inch cutting diameter, a 1.25 inch length of cut, and a 3.25 inch overall length. Six spiral flutes with a 30-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. The bright uncoated finish is standard for cobalt tools used across a wide range of workpiece materials.
This end mill is suited for general-purpose and production milling in job shops, tool rooms, and manufacturing facilities. It performs well on ferrous and non-ferrous materials where cobalt tooling is preferred over carbide for interrupted cuts or setups prone to vibration. The centercutting geometry allows for plunge entry as well as conventional peripheral and slot milling. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation align with standard vertical and horizontal milling machine spindles. It belongs to the SPC408 series and is sold individually.
Designed for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous metals, and high-temperature alloys. Compatible with standard milling machine spindles accepting a 0.5 inch straight shank. Part of the SECO SPC408 series.
Installation is performed by machinist or toolroom personnel using a standard end mill holder, collet chuck, or Weldon-style holder rated for 0.5 inch shank tooling. Verify spindle is fully stopped and machine is locked out before changing tooling. Confirm tool runout does not exceed the 0.0010 inch TIR maximum before beginning the cut. Follow shop safety protocols and machine manufacturer guidelines for speeds and feeds based on workpiece material.
