The SECO 17011726 is a cobalt square end mill designed for high-performance milling in a wide range of metalworking applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, this single-end tool delivers reliable cutting performance in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous metals, and high-temperature alloys. The 0.375-inch diameter cutter features four spiral flutes with a 30-degree helix angle and a bright, uncoated finish. With a 1.5-inch length of cut and a 3.25-inch overall length, this mill falls within the long-series SPC408 range, offering extended reach for deeper pockets and slots without sacrificing rigidity. Centercutting geometry enables direct plunge entry into the workpiece.
This end mill is suited for use in CNC machining centers, knee mills, and manual milling machines across job shop and production environments. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute spiral configuration are standard for conventional and climb milling in both horizontal and vertical setups. Its uncoated bright finish makes it a practical general-purpose choice when coating costs are not justified by the job. Machinists working on steel fabrication, mold work, maintenance machining, and prototype work will find this a dependable tool for slots, pockets, profiling, and peripheral cuts.
Designed as a general-purpose replacement or stocking end mill for standard 3/8-inch collets, end mill holders, and shrink-fit toolholders accepting a 0.375-inch shank diameter. Suitable for primary workpiece materials coded P, M, K, N, and S per ISO material classification.
Installation and use should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle and workholding are fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Confirm holder runout does not exceed the 0.001-inch TIR maximum specified for this tool, as excess runout accelerates flute wear and reduces surface finish quality. Follow the machine manufacturer and applicable shop safety guidelines for speeds, feeds, and coolant application.
