The SECO 17011725 is a square end mill designed for material removal in milling operations across a range of metalworking applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, this single-end tool features a 0.375-inch cutting diameter, a 0.75-inch length of cut, and a 30-degree helix angle with four spiral flutes. The bright uncoated finish is suited for applications where coating is not required or where regrinding is anticipated. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute geometry make it compatible with standard spindle setups. This tool is intended for use by machinists and CNC operators in job shop, production, and maintenance environments.
The 17011725 is rated for cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous metals, and high-temperature alloys. The centercutting capability allows for plunge entry directly into the workpiece without a pre-drilled hole. The short series form factor, with a 2.5-inch overall length and 0.375-inch shank diameter, provides rigidity in applications where deflection control matters. This tool fits standard 3/8-inch collets and toolholders and is appropriate for both conventional and climb milling passes on vertical and horizontal machining centers.

Install and remove end mills only with the spindle fully powered down and the machine in a locked-out state per applicable safety procedures. Secure the shank in a properly sized collet or end mill holder, ensuring full engagement without exceeding the length-of-cut boundary. Inspect the tool and holder for runout before cutting; the maximum TIR for this tool is 0.0010 inches. Follow machine manufacturer feeds and speeds guidelines for cobalt tooling in the target workpiece material.
