The SECO 17011695 is a square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding metalworking applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, this single-end tool features four spiral flutes with a 30-degree helix angle, delivering efficient chip evacuation and surface finish quality across a range of workpiece materials. The cutting diameter is 0.125 inches with a length of cut of 0.375 inches and an overall length of 2.3125 inches. The bright uncoated finish makes it straightforward to inspect for wear. It is centercutting, allowing plunge entry directly into the workpiece. Part of the SPC408 series, this end mill is intended for use by machinists and tool-and-die professionals in production and job-shop environments.
This end mill is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous metals, and high-temperature alloys. The 0.375-inch shank diameter fits standard ER and end mill holders commonly found on CNC machining centers, manual knee mills, and toolroom equipment. Its small cutting diameter makes it well suited for slot milling, profiling, and contouring in tight geometries or on small-scale workpieces where a full-size end mill cannot reach. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration is the standard orientation for conventional and climb milling on most setups.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use end mill for any setup accepting a 0.375-inch shank diameter. Compatible workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous metals, and high-temperature alloys per SPC408 series specifications.
Installation is performed by machinists using a standard end mill holder or collet chuck sized for a 0.375-inch shank; ensure the holder is clean and free of chips before seating the tool. Verify spindle runout does not exceed the specified TIR maximum of 0.0010 inches to prevent premature tool wear or dimensional error. Always bring the spindle to a full stop and follow lockout procedures before changing tooling. Apply cutting fluid appropriate to the workpiece material to extend tool life and maintain surface finish quality.
