The SECO 17011666 is a single-end square end mill designed for material removal in demanding machining applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel and left in a bright, uncoated finish, this tool offers solid heat resistance and edge retention without a coating. It runs a 1.25-inch cutting diameter, a 1.625-inch length of cut, and a 30-degree right-hand spiral flute geometry that promotes efficient chip evacuation. Centercutting capability allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece. This tool is intended for use by machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in production or job-shop environments.
The 17011666 is engineered for cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys, covering ISO material codes P, M, K, and S. The 1.25-inch straight shank fits standard milling chucks and collet holders at that bore diameter. The 4.125-inch overall length suits most vertical milling machine and machining center setups where extension reach is not required. It is part of the SP205 series, which targets general-purpose and mid-difficulty alloy machining at conventional cutting parameters.
