The SECO 17011660 is a cobalt square end mill designed for material removal in ferrous and high-temperature alloy machining applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it delivers thermal resistance and edge retention beyond standard HSS tooling. The cutter measures 1 inch in diameter with a 1-5/8 inch length of cut and a 4-1/8 inch overall length. A 30-degree helix angle promotes chip evacuation and smooth cutting action across a range of workpiece materials. The bright uncoated finish is suited for applications where coating adhesion or cost is a concern. Two flutes provide generous chip clearance during roughing and semi-finishing passes.
This end mill is intended for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys in manual and CNC machining environments. The single-end, centercutting design supports both peripheral and plunge cutting operations. The short length type keeps deflection low during aggressive cuts. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute geometry match standard spindle rotation on conventional vertical mills and machining centers. It is sold individually and is appropriate for job shops, toolrooms, and production machining operations.
Designed for use with steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys as noted in the SP205 series specifications. Compatible with any machine tool spindle accepting a 1 inch straight shank. Centercutting design is suited for both slotting and plunge milling operations.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician using an appropriate collet chuck, end mill holder, or Weldon-style holder rated for a 1 inch shank. The spindle must be fully stopped and the machine powered down before tooling changes. Verify runout against the maximum TIR specification of 0.0010 inch after seating the tool. Follow shop safety protocols and applicable OSHA machine guarding standards during setup and operation.
