The SECO 17011654 is a cobalt square end mill designed for material removal in demanding machining operations. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it delivers heat resistance and edge retention when cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys. The tool features a 0.75 inch cutting diameter, a 1.3125 inch length of cut, and a 3.5625 inch overall length. The bright, uncoated finish suits applications where coating compatibility is a concern or where regrinding is planned. This is a single-end, centercutting design, meaning it can be used for plunging as well as peripheral and slot milling. It is installed and used by machinists and tool-and-die professionals in job shops and production environments.
This end mill is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys in short-reach applications. The SP205 series targets general-purpose machining where cobalt tooling outperforms standard HSS but a carbide tool is not required or preferred. The 0.75 inch shank diameter fits standard milling collets, end mill holders, and Weldon-style tool holders commonly found in knee mills, CNC machining centers, and manual bridgeport-style machines. This tool is installed by machinists using standard end mill holders or collet systems; verify holder runout before use, as the specified TIR maximum is 0.0010 inches. Power down and lock out the spindle before changing tooling in accordance with shop safety procedures. Do not exceed the recommended depth of cut or feed rate for the workpiece material and machine horsepower rating. Secure the shank fully within the holder to the minimum engagement depth specified by the holder manufacturer to prevent pullout.
